June was born on Texas Downs Station. She has lost both her mother and father but Madigan and Sandy Thomas treat her like a daughter.

She lives in Kununurra, has eight children and visits her relatives at Warmun as often as she can.

She was taught painting by one of the best Lena Nyadbi who seems to have devoted her life to teaching youngsters both culture and painting.

June paints in the typical Warmun” style thick, crusty ochre. When this gallery was first opened, her work was noticed and purchased by a well-known Gallery she has a promising future and we look forward in particular to the paintings of her father’s and mother’s dreamtime stories and the landscapes of their country, which she is currently doing with advice from lena.
