Eileen Bird started painting around the mid nineties is an Eastern Arrernte woman. Many of her artworks depict the gathering of bush tucker as well as women’s ceremonies associated with the Country she is from, which incorporates the area around Bushy Park station. Her Family are from a place called Hearts Range and many of her relatives still live there.
Eileen now lives at Mulga Bore with her Husband Paddy Bird, who is the eldest son of Aboriginal Artist Ada Bird Petyarre. Eileen has 11 children and many grandchildren and a number of them are involved in Traditional Aboriginal painting.
